Jacinta Forbes QC

Jacinta was articled at Slater and Gordon and practised at that firm for 10 years before coming to the Bar. In that time she worked in and managed a variety of personal injury cases including all areas of common law and the various statutory schemes of Workcover, TAC and Comcare, together with a variety of professional negligence matters. Jacinta worked in employment and discrimination law, overseeing and managing litigation in the Industrial Relations Commission, Equal Opportunity Tribunal, Federal Court and the various state courts.

Jacinta has been involved in major litigation projects; specifically, product liability claims against the silicone breast implant manufacturers, brought by Australian women filed largely in US jurisdictions: and in litigation against the Australian Red Cross on behalf of persons with medically acquired hepatitis C. Also Jacinta worked in native title litigation for WA claimants before the then newly formed Native Title Tribunal. She was also involved in litigation in relation to refugee issues working with and chairing a number of committees assisting refugees and asylum seekers
