How many points can I claim with CPD In Session?

Each state and territory has its own CPD rules and regulations. CPD in session recommends that website users should consult the CPD or CLE rules that apply in their relevant jurisdiction.

One hour of video or audio content is equal to 1 CPD unit/point. Up to 5 points per CPD year can be claimed for video or audio content. PDF paper / Powerpoint presentation downloads do not earn CPD points unless they are accompanied by video or audio material.

How many points do I need, and in which categories?

Each state and territory has its own CPD rules and regulations. CPD In Session recommends that website users should consult the CPD or CLE rules that apply in their relevant jurisdiction.

The Legal Profession Uniform Law (adopted in Victoria & NSW) requires that a practitioner must, unless exempted in whole or in part, complete at least ten (10) CPD units/points in each CPD year.

The CPD rule requires that solicitors who are required to undertake CPD, must complete as part of their CPD obligations at least one (1) CPD unit/point in each of the following categories:

  • Substantive Law
  • Ethics & Professional Responsibility
  • Practice Management & Business skills
  • Professional skills
