Mark Bilecki

Mark Bielecki began his appointment as the Registered Organisations Commissioner on  1 May 2017.

He is a specialist in complex litigation and has extensive experience in corporations and competition law, directors’ duties and regulatory prosecution and defence work.

Mr Bielecki’s career has spanned both practice and leadership roles in the private sector, major commercial law firms and the public sector.

He was the South Australian Regional Commissioner at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).  He also served in several senior positions at ASIC, including as the Senior Executive leader of Corporations and Corporate Governance Enforcement for all of Southern Australia, and in the Chief Legal Office of ASIC, including as the senior legal adviser to the Markets Disciplinary Panel.

Mr Bielecki was previously managing partner of law firm, Finlaysons, and of a newly established Sydney office of another major commercial law firm.  Also while working in Sydney, he was the National Leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal’s Dispute Resolution and Litigation Business Unit.

He has extensive experience in practice in South Australia and New South Wales, and has practised, or represented clients, in every state and territory of Australia, in New Zealand, and the United States.
