In this seminar Jason Harkess presents an explanation as to what qualifies as hearsay evidence under the Evidence Act 2008 and considers some more difficult hypothetical examples of hearsay evidence.
Jason Harkess is an experienced barrister who has appeared as counsel in most jurisdictions including the County Court, Federal Court, Victorian Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, and the High Court, practising principally in the areas of criminal and administrative law.
Jason lectures Administrative Law, Contract Law, Public Law and Evidence at Monash University in both the undergraduate LLB and postgraduate JD programs and has been the Chief Examiner of the Victorian Bar Entrance Examinations since July 2013.
