Entire legal profession to gain access to Victorian Bar expertise
Featuring some of Australia’s most in-demand barristers, the Victorian Bar has announced the first online continuous professional development program by an independent bar that will be available to the whole of the legal profession.
The Victorian Bar is expanding its CPD program and launching CPD In Session, an on-demand digital catalogue of legal education video seminars and audio files. Expert presenters will provide insights from the highest level of the profession, from the judiciary, the Bar and more.
Using some of Australia’s most in-demand barristers, we have launched more than 30 CPD seminars and Q&A sessions. New titles and seminars will be added frequently throughout the year.
“The Victorian Bar is the first bar association in Australia to share its in-house CPD program with the broader legal community and professional services practitioners in relevant fields such as insolvency practitioners, human resources professionals, town planners and accountants,” said Paul Anastassiou QC, President of the Victorian Bar.
“As part of our commitment to excellence in the provision of legal education, our aim is to provide continuing professional development and insights, from leading experts at the highest level of the profession, that is relevant, valuable and responsive to changes within the legal profession.
“Specialist knowledge has and will always be the key. Few know the intricacies and nuances of the most challenging legal topics in Australia better than our Victorian Bar members – for they are the experts who must appear, defend and advocate on behalf of their clients.
“The Victorian Bar is sharing its expertise with the whole of the profession. ‘CPD In Session’ will be valuable to practitioners everywhere, from barristers to in-house counsel, law firms small and large and regional and suburban lawyers.”
Seminars are available across Substantive Law, Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Professional Skills and Practice Management and Business Skills, and can be accessed on-demand, anytime from the digital catalogue.
All seminars and Q&A sessions are viewable on PC’s, tablets and mobile devices. CPD In Session allows users to create a CPD record for auditing purposes, providing users peace of mind.
The Victorian Bar’s CPD offering incorporates the purchase of single sessions, bundles and an annual subscription.
